This is a fundraiser to help someone get mental health assistance for suspected ADHD.
Nationwide
ADHD care in New Zealand in the public healthcare system is currently inaccessible with wait times of up to two years.
I am trying to raise funds for a beneficiary who has no means of accessing funding for a diagnosis.
The lack of diagnosis can cause serious problems - this person has a referral from their doctor but cannot afford the fees.
I also have another page here: https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/help-rory-become-an-internationally-certified-adhd
All money will be used for their diagnosis and to pay for a one off medication adjustment if that is needed. If this is not needed money will be donated to the ADHD New Zealand organisation.
Still awaiting an appointment. 13 September 2021
ADHD care is unfortunately quite terrible in New Zealand. The appointment for September has just been moved back to November. The invoice has already been pre-paid. I wrote to the Health Minister to raise a complaint, and the reply stated a review of the health system was underway already and nothing further could be done. I will let you know as soon as they have their appointment.
