Help vulnerable kittens of Wellington to receive the very best vet care they need to enable them to survive and thrive!
Wellington
Amelie came to Feral Nation on April 25th, she had been hanging around a house for a few days and evaded capture but then took herself into the garage where she was able to be caught. She was full of flu and then got a chest infection, but she got over both relatively quickly and was speyed on May 18th.
A few days later it was clear she was poorly, and she has since become a regular at Animates Vetcare Miramar. On 1st June she was in the clinic for monitoring, where it was decided that to give her a chance of survival she would need to be anaesthetised and be fitted with a feeding tube. This was hugely risky, because a kitten as sick as her should not be anaesthetised... but it was her only chance.
It was an incredibly stressful time for the vet team... but Amelie pulled through :) She's now going to be receiving food and medication via a tube, and with any luck she'll soon be perfectly healthy and ready to select her purrfect home.
It's been quite a tough kitten "season" but at this end of it there'll be more and more very sick kittens. Thanks to wonderful Feral Nation supporters, I never have to make a decision on whether to pay for expensive treatment for a kitten... but it's much less stressful if I already have the funds ready to pay, rather than needing to basically beg for help when presented with a vet bill.
Every single dollar donated is a great help and very much appreciated :)
