Help us save our beloved Meg. She has recently been diagnosed with cancer, and treatments can save her life.

"Anyone who has children or a deeply loved companion knows the fear that comes when they become ill. For us, our pets are not “just animals”; they are family. That is how we feel about our dog Meg, a Labrador x Whippet who shares our home and hearts.
Meg came into our lives at two years old and will be turning twelve next month. When we met her, she had been neglected—painfully thin, hiding in her crate, terrified of stairs, and overwhelmed by people. Today, she is unrecognisable. Meg is confident, loving, and joyful. She seeks affection and has a favourite “party trick,” popping balloons at celebrations. She brings laughter wherever she goes and protects our other dog, Bones.
Meg has been our quiet strength during difficult times, sensing stress and never leaving our side. She grew up alongside our twin boys and is often called “the daughter I never had.”
That is why her sudden lymphoma diagnosis has been devastating. Just weeks ago she was popping balloons on New Year’s Eve. Despite everything, she is not in pain and her spirit remains strong. Giving up on her has never crossed our minds.
Insurance covers only $600 per year for cancer, while Meg needs 18 chemotherapy treatments costing over $1,000 each. In just 10 days, nearly $10,000 was spent on tests, scans, a biopsy, and an emergency hospital stay that saved her life.
The road ahead is long, but we are choosing hope. Any support will go directly toward Meg’s treatment and her chance to continue the life she loves."

UPDATE 6 February 2026
Our special, sweet Meg has been on a very difficult journey these past few weeks and our hearts are heavy watching her fight so bravely. Her chemo and aftercare treatments have been unpredictable and we are still learning how to manage the ups and downs, although lately there have been more hard days than good ones. She has become very weak from not being able to eat and has lost more weight. Simple things like standing and walking are now a struggle. When she tries, she often stumbles and her legs give way beneath her. We have made several emergency vet visits, and her white blood cell count has dropped, which means she now needs hormone injections, which we are giving her and even closer care and monitoring.
Despite everything, Meg continues to show her gentle spirit and we are holding onto hope with everything we have. It has been heartbreaking to see her go through this, but we are committed to doing all we can to give her comfort, care and every possible chance. We are so grateful for the kindness, prayers and support we have already received. If you are able to help, through sharing her story, keeping her in your thoughts or donating, it truly means more than we can say. Thank you for standing with Meg and with us during this extremely difficult and heartbreaking time.
