Help Selim to go back home

Selim is a 26-year-old french man who had a serious accident 3 weeks ago in New Zealand while he was in the Northland doing sand surfing. He broke one of his vertebrae (T11) and sustained a spinal cord injury. After a 7-hour-surgery in Middlemore Hospital in Auckland, he has been told by the medical team that he would not be able to use his lower limbs anymore.

Selim was an active young man, he loved hiking and exploring. For the last two years Selim has been travelling around beautiful New Zealand and wouldn’t have imagined in a million years that his amazing trip would have ended that way. :(

At the moment, Selim is still an inpatient in Auckland and is struggling keeping his mood up far from his family. He is waiting for his repatriation to France, where he will be able to start his long rehab journey and maximize his chance to recover from this tragic event.

That’s why we need to get him home as soon as possible! His family and friends are very worried and can’t wait to have him back home to best support him.

But due to the nature of his serious injury, he will need a medical team to oversee the trip, which is very expensive : it will cost 60,000$!

We won’t be helped by any insurance so we need your precious help and support to pull together this crazy amount of money and get him home as safe as possible. Even a small donation is already very helpful for us!
