Reliable cars are a precious resource for our Shakti Advocates to reach women, children and youth in danger. When they are experiencing horrific family violence incidents, we have to act before it is too late.

Shakti plays an important role in ending family violence and supporting survivors. Many of the women who we have supported over the last 23 years would not be alive today, if we hadn't reached them in time. This decision for many migrant and refugee women to leave violent relationships is a hard one as there are often language barriers, stigma and shame, as well as less family and social support after leaving a violence relationship. So when a women reaches out to us, it means violence has escalated to the point where her life and the lives of her children are in grave danger. She needs to get out fast.
