Help heart transplant patient get to the Dresden 2025 Games.
Waikanae, Wellington
Shane Leger will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of his heart transplant this year - the same month as the World Transplant Games in Dresden Germany. Aside from his personal goal, the transplant games is a great way to spread awareness about organ donation.
It is Shane's dream to celebrate his huge 20 year milestone in such an exciting way, however it is up to each participant to cover or fundraise the costs associated with participating - flights, accommodation, entry, other events at the games etc. Shane is self employed - so also would not be able to take annual leave to attend, so also would not be earning an income while away participating.
So many people love Shane's enthusiasm for life, the passion & care he puts into his family, his work and helping out friends and family. Now he is asking for some help back, in supporting him get to one of his dreams. Every little bit helps, even if just a few dollars.
We aren't the most comfortable asking friends and family for help, so please know we aren't expecting anything from you but will love and appreciate your support in any way you can, whether it's cheering Shane on, sharing this page, helping Shane train, donating, or even helping at home while he's away. We do appreciate it all.

When Shane wakes up in a few hours, they will be off to the airport to fly from Berlin to Dresden.
They have enjoyed an amazing couple of days walking around, seeing sights, but excited to get to the main event.
