Celia is a generous, strong woman facing demanding costs of ongoing medical treatment. Let's help support her so she can beat this cancer.
Bay of Plenty
Celia and Marg are one of the most generous couples I know. If someone needs help they will drop everything to come to their aid. Celia and Marg love to welcome people into their home for scrumptious food and laughter. They are always giving out to others. Their generosity is well known.
And now they need our help and generosity.
Celia has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 (cT3N2M1), multi-focal Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the oesophagus. Celia is a battler and won't accept the prognosis without a fight. She has taken it to the cancer and made immediate changes in lifestyle and diet. But this fight comes at a cost. The cost of supplements (particularly weekly Vitamin C infusions), food and travel is having severe impact on their day-to-day living costs.
Asking for help is not in Celia's nature. But, with her blessing I have created this givealittle page to help support her and Marg in this time of need. I hope you see your way to helping this generous couple, and also to sharing this page.
My name is Andrea Pooley and I, like many others, have been the recipient of many meals, laughter and friendship from Celia and Marg. This is a time and way for me and others to step up and give back to them.
Celia is requiring weekly Vitamin C treatment. The cost of this ongoing treatment (and travel) is making it a struggle for her and her whanau to meet their basic living costs. Any surplus will be used for future medical costs that Celia will face.
Your support is helping Celia beat this cancer battle! 26 September 2021
When she was diagnosed back in January, Celia couldn't eat. All her food was taken though a straw. SHE CAN NOW EAT! Thank you!
Back in January, Celia didn't think she'd be around to see the birth of her grand-daughter. LITTLE EMMA IS NOW NEARLY FIVE MONTHS OLD! Thank you!
Celia didn't think she'd get to celebrate another birthday. HER BIRTHDAY WAS 3 WEEKS AGO AND SHE CELEBRATED! Thank you!
She is still working full time. AMAZING!
She is planning holidays next year! She is planning her birthday next year! INCREDIBLE!
A big reason for this is because she is strong and determined, and she is loved so much! But strength and determination can't pay for the important, life-giving treatments she's been having. She's still around because YOU have provided the means for her to continue having weekly Vitamin C infusions. YOU are helping to pay for the 30 plus supplements a day she takes, and for the ongoing acupuncture and chiropractic treatments she has. THANK YOU!
We all LOVE having Celia around and we want her around for at least another 50 years, don't we!
The battle is not yet over. Let's continue to show Celia and Marg how much we love them.
