Help support 17 month old Baby Emiya and her mum and dad thru her Cancer Treatment
Hawera, Taranaki
I have restarted this page as I did not realize the financial impact on this family and they still need help , and any help is gratefully received ❤Emi is now 17 months old
Little Emi (Emiya) was only 15 months old when she was diagnosed with Leukemia, B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia , she and her mum Danielle ( my daughter and grand daughter) were air lifted from Base hospital in Taranaki and flown to Starship hospital in Auckland , the news is heart breaking and soul crushing , Danielle Emiya and her dad Tyler live and work in Hawera , so dad is having to do the long drive to Auckland when he can, to be with and support his wife and their only child his little girl, her treatments are going to be on going for 2 and a half years , and after many weeks in Starship hospital and then in Ronald Mcdonald house , she will have to keep having treatments and travel from Taranaki to Auckland depending on how she responds to her chemo, so neither of them (mum and dad) can work in these initial weeks as little Emi is so sick and needs both mum and dad , they had been given a few petrol vouchers but they just don't cover the expensive costs involved, and not working for how ever many weeks it takes to stabilize little Emi , means no income for every day bills and mortgage repayments, they need our support so they can be there for there baby any little bit will help, we never thought in a Million years she would have CANCER I thank you in advance ❤
I am Danielle's mum and Emiyas grand mother Tyler is my son inlaw
Money donated will cover travel costs from Hawera to Auckland , any loss of wages as both mum and dad need to be with Emi while she's having treatments everyday costs mortgage on their home getting Emi back to Auckland for future treatments
New update on Emi 27 February 2023
This week Emi started Phase 3 of her treatment plan - Interim Maintenance day 1 was Thursday last week at starship hospital.
This phase Emi will receive blood tests every 10 days to check her levels and if they are good enough each time she will get her 2 Chemo infusions the following day, which are Vincristine & Methotrexate.
Our Nurse specialist was hoping we could do this phase at our local hospital but unfortunately we will still have to go back an forth to starship every time, so we have updated the goal on the page.
On a positive note Emi has been doing really good an her levels have all been within the normal range, that she was given the official ok (for now it may change during this phase) to go out in public again - with some strict restrictions in place of course.
So Emi has had a great time these past 2 weeks visiting some parks and having picnics with mum & dad, seeing some very friendly ducks! And making a new friend the same age as her ❤️
