Gareth had so much love for all he encounter, he was solid, loyal and respected by many, help get the headstone he deserves.
Te Awamutu, Waikato
Double homicide, It's been a journey of resilience and faith to lay our boys to rest, my son Gareth Hira, and his cousin/brother was suddenly taken from us. His brother died 15.03.25, 4 days later we had no choice they said we have to turn off life support, he fought to stay alive as we know even death wasn't going to stop him from protecting us and giving us time to try and adapt to come to terms he has to say goodbye, reason he held on even after 28 plus stab wounds through his heart and every main organ. It felt I was navigating a dark storm, my whanau has been our strength through such a great loss of not one but two of our boys. He went from hospital to Auckland for investigation next day they released his body, 5 days later we finally got to take my boy Gareth to the marae (whakamarama) to join the rest of our grieving whanau as they waited for us to reunite our boys, we as whanau didn't want them to make their journey alone. They fought and stayed together till the death of them, the love they had for each other will always remain as a quote that my son posted on his Facebook wall "SOLID TILL MY HEART STOPS" he lived and died true to that quote. Hundreds came to show respect, the crowd was overwhelming with so much love and support for our boys. All funds will help towards my son's headstone (Gareth's Hira) life was never suppose to be this way we bury our kids not the other way around help a grieving family/mother to give my son the headstone he truly deserves.
His headstone that the whanau is wanting and the one he deserves. Justice for our boys.
