A place where you can support our vision to make our new centre a beautiful place for all who seek the wisdom of the Buddhas teachings

Auckland

The Auckland Buddhist Centre has been transforming Aucklanders lives for almost 50 years. In 2023 we moved from our ageing Grey Lynn property into new premises at the base of Maungawhau/Mt Eden. With this wonderful location and a building with great potential, we spent much time in 2024 redesigning the building, and the last six months rebuilding it - with the help of some fabulous architectural and construction professionals, who helped bring our vision to life.

With the completion of the building work expected to be this month, we are looking forward to moving back into a beautiful space - a building for the next 50 years and beyond.

We have had a lot of support, but as of July 2025 we still have some way to go to pay all the renovation-related bills we expect to get later this year. So we are back in fund-raising mode, and looking to raise the final $80,000 needed to meet our original target and cover the rest of the costs.

With our opening expected in early August, we hope you will agree that we have been able to create a place where new generations of Aucklanders can discover the dharma just like we did. It will indeed meet our needs to be flexible enough for different groups of people to meditate, study the dharma and make lifelong spiritual friends.

Can you help once more? Whatever you can give is welcome.

About us

We are Auckland Buddhist Centre. Our Core Purpose is to make the Buddha's teaching available to all who seek its wisdom

Use of funds

The money is required to complete the refurbishment of our new Centre and to cover operating costs while the centre is out of action during the refurbishment process. The build starts in October so all monies will go to the project. If we don’t raise $250k via give a little, we will look at other fund raising options.
