Help us fix Saffron’s teeth
Help the mysterious Saffron get medical help!

Saffron is the funniest cat I’ve ever met. She is inside only, completely by her own choice. She screams from wherever she is in the house to get attention. We adopted her completely by chance as a neighbourhood character knocked on our door and asked if we could take her in. All we know about her is that her previous owner passed away and she was left to fend to herself until our neighbourhood cat distributor discovered her.
Unfortunately she was not blessed in the dental department. According to the vets she is likely to be relatively young as she is healthy and nimble, but she urgently needs a dental cleaning and at least one tooth pulled. She came to us with one mysteriously gone already.
Our options are very limited as we do not have the disposable income required to pay for such a hefty bill.
We have been quoted $745.10 for the cleaning alone, then a mystery amount of at least $200 to pull the needed teeth. The vet also said to allow for $200+/- for medications or care needed after the procedure

Yesterday was Saffron’s dental cleaning. Her blood test came through clear, so she was good to go. The doctor found she had a slight heart murmur but wasn’t worried and told me they’re always really cautious, and will give her the best care possible.
In the end they removed 2 teeth. I’m looking forward to counting how many teeth she actually has left, since she was already missing a few when we got her. She was sent home with pain meds and antibiotics. As soon as we got home she was screaming like her normal self, ready for her food and cuddles. She’s acting like nothing happened!
The cost came to $1045, so we will donate $55 to Kitten haven Kapiti
