Help our whānau with expenses while Vinnie is receiving treatment in Brisbane hospital after an accident
Napier, Hawke's Bay
Kia ora whānau and friends,
We’re reaching out during a difficult time. My brother Vinnie, his wife Becky, and their girls, Eva Rose (9) and Mackenzie (4), are facing an overwhelming situation. Vinnie was involved in an accident after arriving in Brisbane on Wednesday 11/09/24 and was found unresponsive. He was rushed to the hospital and had emergency brain surgery for multiple brain bleeds. He is currently in ICU at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and after being in an induced coma for 10 days he is now responding to the treatment of the amazing medical staff and will begin his long journey to recovery and rehabilitation.
This tragedy comes just months after Vinnie’s cancer diagnosis in December 2023. Now, with Vinnie unable to travel, he is expected to stay in Brisbane for the foreseeable future. This means Becky and the girls will need to travel between New Zealand and Australia regularly, which is an added financial burden that they do not need.
Our whānau has always come together in tough times, and today, we’re asking for your support. Any contribution will help with travel costs, daily expenses, and medical bills, allowing our family to focus on Vinnie’s healing. Your generosity, no matter the amount, would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness and aroha during this time. Please share this message with others so together, we can help ease the burden.
Ngā mihi nui from our family to yours.
I am Vinnies sister
Updated on 08/10: Transfer via SkyMed to Wellington Hospital, travel for Becky and the girls, daily expenses

Money raised will go directly to Vinnies wife, Becky to help with expenses such as travel from Brisbane to NZ, daily living expenses and ongoing medical and essential bills while he is receiving life saving treatment at Royal Brisbane Hospital.
Vin is home 🥰 14 October 2024
Last and final update for Vin.
In true Vin style, he has defined all odds and is now home in Napier, where he will continue his recovery.
At the start we weren’t sure how this would all play out & of course expected the worse but Vin is a survivor & a fighter and is obviously very determined to be here which we are truly grateful for
Thank you from Vin, Bex and the rest of our whānau for all of your messages and donations - it has eased the burden as it was intended to.
Arohanui xx
