Ren has Stage IV Metastatic Adenocarcinoma. She needs $$$ for ongoing care. PLEASE, PLEASE dig deep and help this giving lady.
Waikato
Ren-Marie is the most kind, gentle, unselfish, giving soul you could ever meet. She is very dear to her friends and family and to many whom she has helped over the years. On 12th August 2016, Ren was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Adenocarcinoma of the lung. Ren needs ongoing palliative care and is no longer able to work. She needs help with day to day living costs, travel to treatments (no longer able to drive), medications etc. Vitamin C intravenous is a consideration but is unaffordable without help. Please dig deep for our darling Ren-Marie.
Ren-Marie is a 55 year old mum who was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Adenocarcinoma of the lung. The cancer has spread to the bone in the ribs, the hip, the the left femur, the supra-renal glands, lymph nodes and the brain. Ren is very ill and is staying brave and positive, as is her family.
For the last nine years Ren has been located on the Counties-Manukau Breast Screen Bus dedicating herself to encouraging people to have Mammograms. Each day she would talk to both men and women in South Auckland explaining the ins and outs of, and the importance of having regular mammograms. Many were fearful of mammograms when they came to Ren and because of her compassionate and caring nature she was able to help them understand the importance of regular screening and to feel comfortable about the procedure. Ren would always go the extra mile to help, fitting in extra people where there was no room, often arriving early and leaving late and continually encouraging both men and women to get themselves checked. Ren is a "GIVER", a GOOD SAMARITAN in the South Auckland community on a quiet campaign against breast cancer and has saved many lives due to her unwavering encouragement of people to get themselves tested.
"GIVERS' find it difficult to accept help from others. Ren, even in her illness is still doing her best to help and encourage people, but right now Ren needs help herself.
Please DIG DEEP TO HELP REN so that this time is not such a struggle for her.
I’m asking family, community, friends, colleagues, and everyone who cares to help this giving woman, so that we can ease her struggle at this difficult time.
I am involved because Ren is my little sister. She is an independent woman and has had many struggles during her life, raising her son who has mild cerebral palsy, on her own. Ren is a "giver" and does not know how to ask for help when she needs it, so I am organising Give-a-Little so she can retain some of her independence and not have to struggle through this difficult journey.
CHEMO NO 3 COMING UP 29 November 2016 28 November 2016
Hi folks,
Just a further update on Ren's progress. She is back for the third lot of chemo tomorrow, not sure what dose they are giving her this time but it had to be cut back for the second treatment because of the side-effects.
Ren has been not been well after the last lot of chemo, with a lot more nausea and vomiting this time round. She spends much time sleeping, as she has little energy and has almost completely lost her appetite.
However, we continue to be positive as her pain levels seem well under control and "touch wood" there have been no infections or illnesses (colds, flu etc)
We are also back to the Radiology Department this Friday 2nd December 2016, I think to discuss a second round of radiation.
Last week Ren went to A Look Good Feel Good gathering at the Superclinic in Manukau where a lovely group of women set about doing their make up and teaching some make up tricks and tricks to tie scarves and head wear when hair loss occurs. All in all it was a lovely morning and Ren looked fantastic in red (see Gallery )
It is now 3 months and 16 days since Ren was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Adenocarcinoma.
Bless you so much gbh. Love you too xxxxxxx
