Bay of Plenty
Ava-Marie, aged 9 years old was diaganosed with child cancer of the kidney on December 2nd 2016.
Doctors found a large tumor in her kidney & later discovered nodes in her lungs.
She has immediately started aggressive chemo treatment at starship children's hospital due to the size of the tumor.
Doctors cannot give a time frame of how long she will require treatment & whether the cancer will respond to the chemo.
Ava-Marie & her mum leave behind their home & life in Mount Maunganui & Ava has had to leave her 3 small dogs with family while she is receiving treatment.
Desiree is a solo mum to Ava-Marie & understandably she has had to cease working immediately to be by Ava's side.
All donations received will help go towards rent, utilities & just general living expenses,
Any & all donations would be greatly received to help support them & make life easier throughout this difficult journey.
Desiree & Ava-Marie would like to thank everyone who has donated, from the bottom of their heart.
Ava-Marie & her mum are dear friends to me.
Ava's journey to date 6 June 2017
Today Ava-Marie is celebrating her 10th birthday. It is a momentous occasion!
After 25 weeks of chemotherapy, radiation, many many procedures and hospital stays, Avie is cancer free!!!!!!!!
It has been a long road for Avie but she has a strong fighting spirit and has battled like a soldier the whole way through.
Working on eating again and strengthening her immunity, Avie hopes to return to school in the near future.
