🐾 Help Gemma the proud sheepdog get back on her paws! After years of hard work, motherhood, and dedication, Gemma is facing a tough battle with a Cruciate Ligament injury and Spinal Arthritis. She's a spirited runner and a true boss, and we want to see her back in action! (Although she is a little past full-time cattle or sheep herding)
Gemma needs surgery for her leg and the incredible new injections that work wonders for dogs like her. We are aiming to raise $9249.45 to cover the cost of her surgery, some for the amazing people at Givealittle,and to provide those magical injections that can keep her active for years to come.
Gemma is a warrior, and in her quieter moments, she reveals her gentle soul. She's given her all, raising multiple litters, without complaint; now, it's our turn to give back. Gemma, along with her son, is about to be relinquished to my care but the expenses for her surgery, painkillers, and injections are a bit more than I can handle right now.

Updated in January 2024: We won't proceed with the surgery. Funds will now be used for Beransa treatment which costs $170/month.

Gemma is Doing Well, thanks ! 26 April 2024
The fundraiser has closed now. The initial treatment of Beransa injections (about four months) seems to have made a real difference ! Although they have been stopped for now, and Gemma isn’t the running machine she used to be - (understandable given she is no spring chicken!} She is able to run again for a limited time each day without apparent pain or after effects. I haven’t observed her in the winter yet but pretty much she is happy and able to move around and play.
