Help K9 Rescue become a registered charity and save thousands of dogs!

WE NEED YOUR HELP to become a registered charity and save the lives of hundreds of dogs and puppies

Canterbury

K9 Rescue and Rehoming is an organisation dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of abandoned and unloved dogs and puppies within the Canterbury community, we have been dedicated to this goal since 2010. Over this period of time we have managed to take in hundreds of dogs and puppies left abandoned at local pounds and to assist people with rehoming their dogs when they are no longer able to have them in their family home. We are currently not running and cannot re-open without becoming a registered charity. We are presently in the early stages of becoming a REGISTERED CHARITY. To do this we need at least $4000 to cover lawyers costs for setting our charity up and, for us to save hundreds more dogs and puppies within our community. Without your generosity we cannot become a registered charity, and continue to save the lives of thousands of dogs and puppies.

About us

Here at K9 Rescue we believe " Love never fails "

With this in mind we have some wonderful programs set up and also in the process of being set up, which we truly believe will beneficial to everyone within our local community and coastal area.

K9 Rescue takes in dogs and puppies from local pounds, vet clinics and families who can no longer provide for them and give them adequate care.

We use a foster program, putting all rescues into appropriate family homes while waiting for their perfect forever home. All of our dogs and puppies are vaccinated, microchiped, registered, desexed and given any other medical care required before leaving for their new homes. This ensures they are having the best possible start and no more unwanted puppies will come from any of our rescues and into a community where they become unwanted and a statistic at a local pound.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
