Ruby arrived into our care and we straight away noticed she need urgent medical care.

Canterbury

Ruby arrived into our foster program late last year along with her baby sister. Within days of her being in care we noticed something was not right with her bladder ! The urine was pinkish. Concerned she had a UTI we took her to the vet who confirmed this - giving her anitibiotics and telling us if it wasn't improving to come straight back. On day 6 after giving the meds time to kick in,things definitely weren't improving, as Ruby jumped off our bed red blood poured out of her and she squeeled in pain, our concerns lead us straight back to the vet. Vet immediately gave Ruby an x-ray confirming that she had a wee bladder FULL of stones, which had been there for 'some time'. Very sad to question how long she had been in such pain for. Ruby's surgery went very well and she has finally recovered wonderfully and is starting to run and play, like a normal dog should!! Her treatment however costs hundreds of dollars and we are asking if you would find it in your heart to help us out with this cost, even if it's just a dollar as every dollar helps us help more dogs out there like Ruby rubes!!!

About us

Here at K9 Rescue we believe " Love never fails "

With this in mind we have some wonderful programs set up and also in the process of being set up, which we truly believe will beneficial to everyone within our local community and coastal area.

K9 Rescue takes in dogs and puppies from local pounds, vet clinics and families who can no longer provide for them and give them adequate care.

We use a foster program, putting all rescues into appropriate family homes while waiting for their perfect forever home. All of our dogs and puppies are vaccinated, microchiped, registered, desexed and given any other medical care required before leaving for their new homes. This ensures they are having the best possible start and no more unwanted puppies will come from any of our rescues and into a community where they become unwanted and a statistic at a local pound.
