In May 2013, Clay was given the prognosis of IgG4 related disease which has caused a mass forming around his lower spine.

Taranaki

This is Clay. He's a 36 year old kiwi guy with a huge heart.

In May 2013, Clay was given the prognosis of IgG4 related disease which has caused a mass forming inflammatory reaction with fibrous lesions impacting his central nervous system around his spinal column. This causes a huge amount of pain for Clay along with loss of feeling in his leg. Due to long courses of steroids Clay also now has Osteoporosis forming.

IgG4 is a fairly new entity to the medical field with as few as 15 to 30 cases worldwide.

Clay has been through numerous scans and biopsies over the years and as a result of the disease his life has been impacted immensely.

Clay has a daughter, a nurturing dog Porscha, his family and close friends he would like to be around for. But, the effects of the tumour causing severe pain has made daily life a struggle as he is faced with physical and mental challenges.

Previously Clay has been advised that the tumour is inoperative but has since received promising information. The goal here for Clay is, to raise enough funds for him to explore his options worldwide. There have been medical trials performed in various countries and perhaps will be available for Clay, here in New Zealand or abroad but at an expensive cost.

This is a guy that has given so much of his time, energy and love to the community and now it's time to give back to someone who's so deserving of it in return.

Please 'give a little' to Clay to help him get his life back. Not only will this help Clay but it will help future cases of IgG4 sufferers.

Surgrey is Out of the Questions, here is why...  15 July 2015

Well I just woke up from I wish a nightmare, in tears, so while I'm awake at 4am I thought I would share with you my experiences yesterday in Auckland with the Specialist. Here it goes... Surgery would leave me paralized from neck down, which Pretty much sums its up. My tumour has engulfed my main nerve and blood on my S1 L5, that just the slightest of wrong move from a surgical point is HIGH, it would wreck the nerve and leave it without use. Also due to the placement of this little #£@#%¥€ if I had surgery I would also lose my bowl and bladder and most of my lower spine would go, which would leave me para from neck down,Wow. I knew pretty much everything apart from that. It shocked us all. I walked out wondering what my future holds with tears & numb.

So what or where to go from here... Well, as I've always stated, there is always someone in a boat that isn't doing to flash themselves, I have a friend right now in critical condition :( Jah bless brother x

So I will continue the steroids and pain relief until further notice. I am still looking at this new drug trail but Dr's are hesitant for me to throw all my money into something that may or may not work as it's very expensive and unknown side effects. Half of me is at the point of "I'm tired, but let's just take the risks". So it's been 3years of hell and not knowing, so we are going to regroup and think of other ways to fix this. Which a lot of you believe in the natural ways. The meds I get now are FREE!! but natural is expensive due to our lovely government, so while on sickness benefit it will be challenging. As for you all you guys, thank you, thank you to everyone that does their part , either it be supporting my mum or myself, cooking, hugs & the list can go on forever, I just can never thank you all enough. It's not over until I say it's over, so now I want to go out and try to enjoy the things I can do and not think back to the things I can't do. Bless all n Jah love to all. Looking forward to seeing you...
