HFNZ Family Camp brings together families with young children with bleeding disorders for education, support and fun! Here's the 2015 video!

Nationwide

Despite advances in treatment, many parents feel devastated when their child is diagnosed with a bleeding disorder. Part of the mission at HFNZ is to provide support for families as they discover what haemophilia means for their family.

Held every other year, National Family Camps bring together families with young children affected by haemophilia and other bleeding disorders from all over New Zealand. For some ‘campers’ it is the first time they have met other families with bleeding disorders.

Through National Family Camp parents gain strength, knowledge and understanding, and look to one another for friendship and support. The fun-filled activity programme, helps the children to start learning about bleeding disorders while enjoying being ‘just like everyone else’.

The 2016 HFNZ National Family Camp will take place at the Keswick Christian Camp on Lake Rotorua from September 30th to October 3rd, and have a Construction theme.

"More than anything, I loved the chance to meet up and connect with other haemophilia families. It can be such a lonely journey, so being together with others who know what it’s like or who are on this journey is amazing. Thank you so much.”

One of our key programmes, we want to be able to send as many families as possible to our Family Camp. Every donation helps support a family to attend the 4-day camp.

About us

Haemophilia and other inheritable bleeding disorders such as von Willebrand's Disorder are rare lifelong chronic medical conditions.

Through our Outreach Workers, innovative educational initiatives and camps, physical activity and supportive footwear programmes, HFNZ is able to assist people with these rare disorders through all stages of their life.
