Siobahn Hope, loving solo mum of 3, is struggling to afford Breast Cancer treatment and daily living expenses while unable to work.
Auckland
Siobahn Hope, loving mother of Dylan, Quentin and Leiana, is fighting breast cancer for the second time. Siobahn is facing a very difficult road ahead and is reaching out for support from all, for her and her three children. Currently, Siobahn is unemployed. She had to give up her job as a cleaner due to the toll the breast cancer was taking on her health. This job was Siobahn’s only income for her family.
This has been devastating to Siobahn and her children, whom she has brought up on her own as a single mother for the past 10 years. Siobahn’s first surgery is scheduled for Tuesday 17 July 2018. Siobahn is reaching out to the community, to those who know her and her three children Dylan (17), Quentin (17) and Leiana (15) and to anyone willing to donate. Our aim is to help relieve the financial stress for the Hope’s during this incredibly tough period.
Many of you will know Siobahn Hope. She grew up in Anglesea Street, Ponsonby and has spent 30 years of her life in the area. Her children attended All Saints Creche, Ponsonby Kindergarten, Ponsonby Primary, and Ponsonby Intermediate. Siobahn was always involved at Ponsonby Kindergarten, Primary and Intermediate School. She routinely volunteered and took part in countless fundraisers. Always selfless with her time and knowledge, now it is our time to help her.
Siobahn was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 and underwent surgery, followed by radiation. She went for her yearly mammograms and in 2013 when she passed her 5 year anniversary she was given the all clear that she was cancer free. This year, in March, Siobahn went for her annual mammogram and it too was clear. In May she felt a lump in her breast, the same breast where the original cancer was diagnosed. Siobahn contacted the hospital and was booked in to have a further ultrasound. The ultrasound revealed that the cancer had returned after being cancer free for 10 years and this time was more aggressive.
Quentin and Dylan are in their final year of high school at Mount Albert Grammar and are actively seeking part-time employment to assist with further costs concerning their mothers treatment and living expenses. If you are able to put forward or link Quentin and Dylan with casual or part time work this would be appreciated tremendously. The family is based in the Mount Albert area.
Your donation will help relieve the stress and anxiety for this family during this extremely difficult period. We graciously ask you to please spread the word on Siobahn’s Breast Cancer Fight and this GiveALittle page with your friends and family. We thank you for your support and all donations will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you kindly, ngā mihi nui

Third Update on Siobahn's Breast Cancer Fight 12 September 2018
Note from Siobahn - Hi everyone
It's been a busy few weeks with medical appointments, so that's reassuring.
I have had regular district nurse visits each week, as well as personal cares at home.
Today (30/08/18) I had a CT scan at Auckland Hospital and get the results back in 5-10 business days.
Tomorrow I am seeing the plastic surgeon in Manukau for a follow up appointment.
I hope to have a better idea of when the next surgery is. It totally depends on the rate of healing.
Next week I see the oncology team at Greenlane to discuss treatment options.
The biggest financial relief of late has been being able to get my car safe to drive...peace of mind.
Thank you all for your care and interest in my family and I.
I hope you all have a blessed week.
Take care
Siobahn and family xx"
