Isaiah is fighting to recover after being hit by 2 vehicles on Anzac Day. Support his long road to healing and recovery. ❤️

On Anzac Day, April 25th, at around 10.40pm, Rebecca and Isaiah’s world changed forever.
Isaiah had been walking along their dark country road on the edge of Levin when, around 300m from the main road, he was struck in a hit-and-run by a car, badly injuring his arm. Isaiah cannot remember anything after this, so the family have had to piece together what likely happened next. Injured and confused, it appears he continued toward the main road trying to get help.
Tragically, around another 300m further on, a scaffolding truck did not see him in time and struck him a second time, throwing him across the road beside a steep bank. The truck itself rolled down the bank beside him.
Before emergency services arrived, Rebecca and Isaiah’s good mate found him lying critically injured, unrecognisable and bleeding out on the roadside.
Rebecca continues to have vivid flashbacks of finding Isaiah fighting for his life, hearing alarm bells sounding through the ambulance while paramedics tried desperately to keep him awake, and arriving at hospital to be met by at least 20 doctors, surgeons and nurses rushing to save him — unsure if he would survive.
Isaiah was treated as a Status 1 trauma patient with a rescue helicopter on standby. He suffered devastating full-body trauma including a fractured pelvis, fractured rib, concussion/head injuries, and one of the worst shattered wrists surgeons had seen, requiring multiple surgeries and ongoing reconstruction.
Acc may assist (yet to do assessment) but it will not cover everything,
Im a friend of the family , my brother is a good mate to Isaiah
Isaiah now faces months of recovery, rehabilitation, more surgeries, and time away from work. This Givealittle has been created to help support Rebecca, Isaiah and their boys with living costs through this unimaginable time. ❤️

Isaiah’s Update – 4 Weeks & 3 Days After the Accident ❤️
Last week, Isaiah’s story was featured in the Horowhenua Chronicle with a beautiful front-page article sharing his journey so positively. We’re so grateful for the support shown.
It’s been another huge week of appointments, wound care, physio, ACC assessments, and chasing referrals after discovering some of Isaiah’s injuries had not been properly followed up after discharge. Thankfully, his skin graft is healing well, and one arm pin was removed during his hospital appointment.
We’ve had so much kindness shown our way — visitors bringing meals, petrol vouchers, fresh fish, help around home, and support with projects. Sunday’s working bee saw around 13 adults and teens helping spread gravel and improve the driveway. Thank you all so much.
The kids have been incredible through all of this, helping around the house, caring for pets, and even collecting prescriptions for their dad.
Monday I returned to work while continuing as Isaiah’s full-time carer around the clock. Between appointments, paperwork, phone calls, homeschooling, caring for the kids, animals, and managing daily life, it’s been overwhelming at times — but we’re getting through one day at a time.
Thank you all again for the ongoing love and support ❤️
