On Friday, May 20th, I Wish I Was Day takes place for the second time across New Zealand all in support of Make-A-Wish! #IWIWD
Nationwide
On Friday, May 20th, Make-A-Wish's nationwide signature mufti-day takes place around New Zealand.
I Wish I Was Day is all about letting your imagination run free and dressing up as what or who you wish to be all in support of Make-A-Wish!
You could fly around the workplace as Superhero Steve, swing to school as Matt the Monkey or head to space as Ashley the Astronaut! On the day donate a gold coin to Make-A-Wish and help us grant the 200 magical wishes we'll be granting this year.
What to do:
Firstly, tell your friends, family, school and workplace to get behind I Wish I Was Day. On Friday, May 20th, dress up as what or who you wish to be and donate a $2 coin to the I Wish I Was Day Givealittle page using the donate button in the sidebar. Then feel amazing because you've helped create magic!
How will it help?
Every dollar raised goes to helping us grant our magical wishes. With approximately 400 eligible children diagnosed last year - we were able to grant 185 of their wishes and for every $5000 raised we'll be able to grant one more wish. I Wish I Was Day will help us reach our vision of 400 wishes granted each year - in other words, every eligible child!
Don't forget to tweet @NZMakeAWish using the hashtag #IWIWD or upload your photos to the Make-A-Wish New Zealand Facebook page.
Thank you for helping us create magic and a big thank you to our supporters this year, Sticky TV and Mattel!
We create life changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We impact around 200 wish children a year, but our vision is to grant the wish of every eligible child. Having a wish fulfilled is life-changing. From the moment a child starts to plan a wish, it gives them something wonderful to focus on which helps them find the strength to keep on fighting. It gives them the boost they need to look to the future and feel hopeful again.
