First Outing
14 November 2017Janelle was determined to get to the Kaipara Kapahaka Festival held at Mangawhai Beach School last Saturday to watch her three girls perform. And through sheer strength, determination, courage and a little convincing of the Hospice staff - SHE DID IT!
Janelle was able to watch her three girls perform, which was made extra special as Georgia holds the lead wahine role and it was her last performance for the Mangawhai Beach School's Kapahaka Group as she heads off to college next year.
Janelle was well enough to attend this as she is feeling better. She had Vit C treatments everday last week and has had then every day this week. She is able to have these treatments thanks to the kindness and generousity of so many.
Unfortunately there wont be any Vit C tomorrow as her haemoglobin is low and she needs to have a blood transfusion but she plans to have more later in the week.
Team Janelle has had a win. She got out. She accomplished a goal, she saw her girls perform. And I'm sure that everyone agrees, she is looking so good. Better than she has in months.
And Im sure that getting out and being invloved in "life" also contributes to her overall wellness.
So the next goals are to get her pain managed, get out of Hospice and come home and to then attend Georgia's Graduation from Mangawhai Beach School.
Thank you too everyone for the part that you have played in making all of this possible.
