The Island Breeze DTS equipping and releasing all nations, tribes, people and languages.
Auckland
Aloha whānau, ohana (family) 🌺
As some of you may know now, I am doing my YWAM DTS (Discipleship Training School) in Kona, Hawai'i! I'm doing the Island Breeze DTS - a 3 month course in Kona, and 2 month outreach in Israel and the Philippines, where we will also meet with our indigenous Island Breeze whānau in each of those places.
The Island Breeze Identity DTS is a mutli-ethnic worldwide community of Christians, committed to the mission of equipping and releasing all nations, tribes, people and languages - wherever they may be - to use the power and beauty of significant indigenous cultural expressions to proclaim and establish the Kingdom of God within the nations of the world.
The heart of Island Breeze, is to find God's thumbprint in every tribe, tongue, and nation. Revelation 7:9 "...After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with epalm branches in their hands..."
Mahalo (thank you) family for your encouragement, prayers, and support so far ❤
We've had the privilege of being welcomed onto this land by our Kanaka Māoli (indigenous Hawaiian people) ohana, and taught the history of the area Kai-a-ke-Akua (Bay of God) where our YWAM Ships base is. Much like there were Māori prophecies of the arrival of the gospel of love and peace in Aotearoa (New Zealand), there were Hawaiian prophecies of King Kamehameha and the arrival of the gospel at this very bay that we now call home. Kai-a-ke-Akua the arrival place of the first missionaries.
We are learning indigenous cultural performances (song and dance), from each of our team member's backgrounds, and will use that to whānaungatanga (create relationships / connections) with the people of the land that we visit on outreach. We will then help out where it's needed in the community, as well as listen in on Wairua Tapu (Holy Spirit's) leading to the needs He is highlighting, and people / persons He is wanting to whānaungatanga with.
We know as indigenous peoples, that some missionaries in the past got it right, and some (with their own greed and selfish ambition) got it very wrong. Misrepresenting the Creator God they already believed in, who wanted to invite them into a Father and son/daughter relationship, filled with grace, mercy, kindness, compassion, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, and love.
So whakapapa (geneology), current affairs, and the history of each place is so significant and so important to learn as outsiders / visitors / missionaries; to appreciate the local culture, people, their traditions, customs, and to make sure we come in with humility, listening to the leading of Wairua Tapu (Holy Spirit).
We love reconciliation, restoration, and seeing people fully embrace their cultural identity, expressing themselves freely, and being fully celebrated for who they are, and who He uniquely created them to be, in His image - each a reflection of the many facets of Him and His character.
Soooo. My outreach fee is $5500 USD 😳😅 (they said to budget from $5500)
This is more than I have, and as the independent, self-sufficient person I have been in the past - I'm learning to ask for money - and it is humbling for sure! (I cried) 😅. If you feel lead to give, I would so love your support with finances and if you could stand with me in believing for God’s provision, I’d be so very thankful 💖
From the bottom of my heart, thank you thank you, thank you.
Arohanui,
Jecka x
