Please help us raise funds for our brother Jonah Ioapo Vili as he battles terminal cancer.
Auckland
Malo lava friends and family,
We are reaching out to friends, family, and our wider community to ask for support for our beloved brother, Jonah, who has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Doctors have given him a prognosis of approximately nine months to live. We have faith and hope that Jonah will overcome. Jonah is currently undergoing chemotherapy and continues to face this challenge with incredible courage and strength, you would not even know he is battling cancer.
Unfortunately, a liver transplant is not an option for Jonah. Despite this difficult news, Jonah and our family have not given up hope. He continues to fight each day with determination, surrounded by love, encouragement, and faith.
We have created this fundraiser to help support Jonah during this time. The funds raised will help ease some of the financial pressures that come with serious illness and allow Jonah to focus on what matters most, spending meaningful time with the people he loves. Jonah is a father of 2 and a grandfather of 2.
Donations will also help Jonah tie up important loose ends and give him the opportunity to tick off a few things on his bucket list. Our hope is to create special memories and meaningful experiences for him in the months ahead.
Jonah has always cared deeply for others, and now we are asking for the community’s support in return. Any contribution, big or small, will make a difference.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, prayers, and support.
Alofa atu,
The Vili Family.
Jonah is my older brother. Jonah is the eldest of the Vili siblings. He is our gentle giant and has the heart to match. Please support and donate where possible. Thank you.
Funds raised will go towards, unfunded medical expenses, any travel & accommodation expenses, daily living expenses, supportive care, loss of income, emergency/unexpected miscellaneous costs. We also hope to tick a few things off Jonah's Bucket List.
Latest Update. 29 June 2026
We have received the heartbreaking news from the doctor that Jonah doesn't have much time left with us.
We were hoping Jonah would make it to Mum's 75th birthday on 29 September, but sadly that may be too far away for our uso.
Jonah is no longer able to walk. He is bedridden and has very little appetite. He has made the decision to remain at home rather than enter hospice care.
If you would like to visit Jonah, please send him a message via Messenger to arrange a suitable time. We encourage you to visit sooner rather than later, while he is still able to have a conversation with you.
If you are unable to visit Jonah please send him a message.
Thank you for keeping Jonah and our whānau in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
