Joseph is an amazing young man, so brave and strong, hes about to face the biggest fight of his life with the most amazing parents!!!!

Waikato

Joseph has being unwell for 5 weeks. He had a case of chicken pox. The week after, Joseph got a severe case of tonsillitis which caused his tonsils to start closing which caused difficulty breathing. We were admitted to waikato hospital. Joseph had not only severe infected tonsils but he had lymph nodes over 3 cm. We were discharged a few days later an was told that once his tonsils had cleared then the lymph nodes would decrease. I took him back every second day for a week yo see how he was progressing an his tonsils had cleared but his lymph nodes increased. I then saw Joseph's energy drop dramatically on Sunday (yesterday) an I took him up to tok hospital an was then asked if we can get to waikato asap. We arrived for bloods to be taken an a chest x ray an at 12am bought up to a ward. More bloods were taken. Doctor came in this morning explaining that bloods were not good news. He had cells in his bloods that were leading towards leaukemia and his lymph nodes were up around his chest/heart. We were then transported to starship hospital an they went into it further an confirmed that we were looking at a case of acute leaukmia, known as ALL. Joseph has a large liver an spleen. Tommorow morning, Joseph will be put under general anesthetic to have a scan around his heart. This is going to be a long road!!!We would like to help financially to help Doug be able to stay in Auckland as long as possible to care for Joseph and help Chrystal as much as possible without worrying about the financial burden of paying rent, bills and food expenses.
