Enhancing the lives of Shelter Dogs -Nelson

Nelson

Every shelter dog deserves a joyful experience, enriching activities, and opportunities to learn new life skills while waiting for their new family. Your donations can help make this possible for fortunate pups.

MaxieMim Performance, in partnership with Walks & Stays, is excited to offer rescue dogs a special K9 pampering session. Walks & Stays will pick up a pup from the Nelson SPCA or another rescue center, providing them with an outdoor walking adventure before heading to MaxieMim Performance for some time in the hydrotherapy pool.

Depending on the dog's needs, they can enjoy safe play in the pool with toys and treats, or perhaps learn to swim with one of our skilled water coaches to boost their water confidence. Some shelter dogs might require assistance with weight management or post-surgery recovery to help regain muscle and stamina.

Additionally, MaxieMim Performance will provide a K9 massage session to pamper these shelter dogs further.

K9 Spa Day: This 60-minute session includes a walking adventure and then coach-led swimming and safe play, followed by a cleansing shampoo and conditioning shower with a massage. The normal cost is $105, but it's offered at a discounted price of $55 for shelter dogs

2.Canine Massage: A relaxing 30-minute massage session, normally priced at $40, now available for $20 for shelter dogs

Coal  24 November 2024

Coal visited us yesterday for his turn at the K9 Retreat. What a lovely boy, and those ears.... He had a great time playing with toys and getting a few treats. He was keen to get into the pool to get some toys and after a few goes at figuring the steps out he was away. After play time and swimming he enjoyed a warm water wash shampoo/conditioner treatment and massage. He had a fab day out and returned to the Nelson SPCA centre smelling delightfully of coconut. Thank you to those who have donated and given the shelter dogs a chance to have an amazing experience. We have enough funds left for another 6 dogs at this stage, so if you are able to share out our Givealittle page that would be much appreciated.
