Denise (Hamilton) Anglesey grew up in the area started her eco fashion label "Denise H" in 2008 while living in Kaikoura before moving to Wellington where she founded NZ Eco Fashion Week in 2013.

Rachel Gillespie resided in the area for many years and owns Kaikoura NZ Tourism and regularly works in the area. Both have friends and family based in Kaikoura.

Business, family and friends were asking to donate so this page was established for the funds to be able to go directly to families and small business struggling in the wake of the devastating 7.8 earthquake that hit the Kaikoura Region in the early hours of 14 November 2016.

Both Denise and Rachel have received numerous text and facebook messages, retweets and instagram likes from people all over the world of support and encouragement. Initially Rachel was helping people outside of Kaikoura locate loved ones.

Use of funds

These funds will be distributed to all the affected communities from Cheviot, Waiau, Hanmer Springs, Kaikoura, Seddon and surrounds.

Negotiations are currently underway for funds to be administered via the Kaikoura District Council Mayoral Fund to distribute to local residents to support families and small businesses.

Nominations for recipients has been requested from the residents of Kaikoura. The funds will be disbursed monthly as per the terms of Give a Little.
