Please help us raise funds to pay for Kerrin's treatment which is costing $6,000 a month.
Hawke's Bay
Kerrin is 43, a Registered Nurse, loving wife to Jason and a devoted Mum to Finn (13) Noah (11) Elise (9) and Daisy (4)
Kerrin was diagnosed with Breast Cancer a little over 3 years ago, she fought with courage and determination, opting for drastic treatment in order to kick the "Big C" to the curb. Her specialists were positive that she would beat this nasty illness.... until a pain in her rib a few months ago that has changed her precious life forever.
Initial tests were reassuring, but an MRI revealed the truth behind her pain.. her Cancer had returned.
Kerrin now has Stage 4, Terminal Metastatic Breast Cancer. She has multiple large tumours in her liver and another large tumour in her chest cavity which is putting pressure on her pericardium, she also has small scattered tumors in both lungs.
The best chance at prolonging her precious life is a drug called Ibrance (palbociclib) and unfortunately it is not funded here in New Zealand. It is HUGELY expensive at $6,000 a month but it is her only option to shrink the tumours and extend the time she has to spend with her family.
At such a difficult time in her life, this page is our opportunity to help out such a deserving woman. As mums and work colleagues we want to raise as much as we can to help Kerrin get this treatment and stay with us for as long as possible.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated and we want to thank each and every one who donates to Kerrins life.
Please note that another page has been set up for Kerrin here- https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/lisas-marathon-mission-for-kerrins-stage-4-cancer
Friends wanting to help in any way we can to try and reduce the financial burden for Kerrin's Cancer treatment.
Any funds raised will go directly to help pay for Kerrin's medication. If we are lucky enough to raise more than required for treatment or if anything changes, funds will go towards helping her husband Jase and their four beautiful children moving forward.
Quiz for Kerrin 8 November 2018
Daisy (Kerrin's youngest) attends Happy Days Childcare while Kez works as a nurse in a busy GP practice. The amazing teachers and carers at Happy days recently organised a quiz night to help raise funds for Kerrin... (see our pic of our team I have uploded) how awesome is that! Just goes to show what an amazing woman Kerrin is and how our community near and far are getting behind her cause.
We still have a long way to go... we now know we need to come up with funding for 11 months worth of treatment - that's $66,000 !!
So please keep sharing this page, your help and support is not unnoticed and we appreciate every single share and penny!
Thanks everyone!
