Fundraising for the Cudby family, to support Nic Cudby through his testicular cancer treatment and support services needed
Papamoa Beach, Papamoa
Last week, Nic Cudby was diagnosed with testicular cancer, which has spread to his abdomen and lungs. Nic has been successful with emergency surgery last week, but will start an aggressive 12-week bout of chemotherapy on 30-January.
Your donations here will impact the Cudby family immediately, helping with services and/or drugs not covered by the public system or Pharmac; day-to-day family costs and support while Nic and Kelly may need to take time off work; activities for the boys; and any other unexpected costs that pop up.
If you know Nic and Kelly Cudby and the boys, you love them. They are just those people. And they love you - because again, they are just that way. Many of us will not be able to understand all the emotions and intricacies of what this young family is and will be going through over the next 3 months, but we can help - Every single contribution counts, and together, we can make an impactful difference to this crew we love - Let's help Nic kick Cancer in the Nuts!!
Medical services and/or drugs not covered by the public system or Pharmac (name of drug not known yet, will update when we do); day-to-day family costs and support while Nick and Kelly are off work; activities for the boys; and any other unexpected costs incurred.

Part 2
I had the PET scan last week and received a phone call yesterday confirming that Yes, all my lungs are fully clear and there is no remaining Cancer throughout. Awesome news! It was unclear if there is a tiny bit of the large tumour that may still have some active cells so my Oncologist is seeking a second opinion which I am currently waiting to hear back. In this case I would potentially seek a quick Zap of radiation to remove any doubt and know that its definitely knocked on the head.
As I mentioned earlier, I fell better each day that goes by and I am now easing back to into exercise. Iv been doing some easy strength and conditioning work at home, and more recently I have been getting some cardio fitness in too. I have gained most of the weight that I have lost since the start, and my hair is just starting to grow again, albeit very soft fluffy stuff at the moment :)
We have been truly grateful for all of the support we have received from the start, its been a very humbling experience, and whilst it was challenging, I see only positives when I look back on my journey so far. Thank you all for your love and support, it has meant so much to us xoxox
Im not sure if I get my next update in time before this page will close down, but rest assured I will be crossing that finish line very soon....
This has made me appreciate living a bit more in the present, as tomorrow is never promised to us. Love you all, catch up soon
