KiwiChat Camp is an intensive 5 day long camp for children using Augmentative Communication systems to meet new people and have fun!

Nationwide

Following on from successful camps run in 2010, 2012 and 2014, TalkLink are running another camp in 2016. The Camp is held at Totara Springs in Matamata for 5 days. The theme of the camp in 2016 is Superheroes.

Intensive communication therapy will be provided each morning and the afternoon will involve activities and opportunities for everyone to practice the skills they have learnt in the morning.

A separate sibling recreation program will be run as well as a parent information sessions. Mentoring will be provided by experienced adult communication device users.

The attendees at KiwiChat camp have the opportunity to participate in activities that they may never have the option to elsewhere. This includes abseiling, attempting the Flying Kiwi and going down the 2nd longest Hydroslide in NZ!
