Common Unity Koha Kitchen

$2,300 donated
Given by 28 generous donors in 2 years

We aim to construct a purpose-built community cooking school, a beautiful working and teaching space set amongst a thriving urban farm.

Nationwide

We have worked with local eco architects First Light Studio to design a large, spacious pavilion built around two recycled shipping containers. Containers purchased with Givealittle donations will be converted into kitchen, classroom and storage spaces. Our facility will model the sustainable use of clean, green technologies - solar power, harvested rainwater and grey water recycling - to our community.

About us

Common Unity is a well known community hub in Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai—Lower Hutt, based in Epuni (a suburb named after Taranaki whānui ancestor Te Puni). We empower our community to grow, connect, regenerate, learn and remember.

I think you do a great job empowering the community and the funding raising for the teaching kitchen building takes it to another level.
