We want to raise money for Kylee and her daughter because Kylee is very ill and dying and wants her daughter to be better provided for.
Waikato
Kylee is 42, with an 11 yr old daughter, and she suffers from a very rare lung disease which is slowly killing her. She has oxygen machines at home which she needs 24/7. She needs help to do the simplest of tasks, because the slightest exertion leaves her gasping for breath. She feels like she’s letting her daughter down, because most of the time her daughter is the one looking after her, not vice-versa. Recently she has been in and out of hospital several times, with each stay seeing her worse than the last. She’s been back in hospital since Monday 27th Dec, and was extremely ill by Tuesday, with doctors estimating her chances of survival at less than 50%. Kylee hasn’t given up yet though, she’s a fighter through and through. Some of the drugs she’s being given have caused her hair to fall out too.
We’re hoping to raise money toward her and her daughter’s extended care as, if she doesn’t die she’s facing months in hospital, and if she does get back home, she’ll need a higher level of care than has previously been provided. With no income, due to her inability to work, and a daughter to provide for, Kylee needs your help. A few less things to worry about will enable her to concentrate on her health, and, if the worst should happen, at least her daughter will be well looked after. If Kylee gets better from this episode, her next goal is to meet the criteria for a lung transplant, an option that has as yet been unavailable for her, and one that would almost certainly kill her if it were attempted whilst she’s this ill. There’s still so many things Kylee wants to do, she doesn’t want to die, and we don’t want that either.
We are close friends of Kylee’s, and have been caring for her and her daughter while she has been very unwell.
There is a new Givealittle page for Kylee here: https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/getting-independence-back
The funds will be spent on Kylee’s daughter’s education and welfare, with any left over going to the restoration of a vehicle currently owned by Kylee, for her daughter’s future use.
