Legal Fees To Fight Being Wrongfully Imprisoned

In 2022 I was wrongfully imprisoned and spent the maximum length of time for the crime in prison. My crime? I attempted suicide and the police decided that I’d lied about that.

I then spent months on electronic bail on a 24/7 curfew before the police finally decided to drop the charge, two weeks before it was due to go to trial.

I have the opportunity to write to the Justice Minister for an apology, potentially compensation, and hopefully changes to the way people in mental health crises are treated. I need to use a human rights lawyer to ensure I have everything needed for the submission and this costs $$

I also lost my job as a result of all of this so can’t just dip into my savings for this.

I’m not 100% sure on the fee yet but anything extra will be given to The Aunties
