Let’s help get Chloe to Sydney for rehab at Advanced Rehab Centre who specialises in Functional Neurological Disorder.
Ashburton, Canterbury
Chloe is your typical 11yr old girl, who loved tramping with Grandad, enjoyed Athletics, Girl Guides.
She was starting yr 7 when she had a fall at school 3rd February 2021, she suffered immense pain for weeks which was followed by a diagnosis of a Chronic pain syndrome.
Easter 2021 the worst happened she lost all feeling in both legs and became wheelchair dependent this was then followed by a diagnosis of a Functional Neurological Disorder.
Over the past 12mths Chloe has spent time in Christchurch, Starship Hospital and Wilson Rehab Centre.
Chloe is losing more function within her body with the numbness now at her lower back, we are desperate to try and stop this getting worse and get our bubbly happy girl back.
To date Alanna and Russell have re mortgaged their home to alter it for her physical needs. They
have paid for private therapy, support and anything she needed just to get through the day.
Unfortunately they have exhausted all current options in New Zealand for Chloe's condition. The next option is to head to Sydney to a rehab Centre equipped for Functional Neurological conditions, we are hopeful that this Centre will get our girl moving again.
They are sincerely grateful for the networks around them plus Chloe's medical team, and feel really uncomfortable asking for financial help, however they need our help to help their girl before it's too late.
We can't allow our pride to stand in the way of Chloe being pain free and moving.
We are eternally grateful for your support.
Chloe is a very close friends daughter, her children are like our children.

She is moving!! 13 August 2022
Thank you everyone for your support, We are so excited to let you know that even thou Chloe still can't feel her legs, she has got them moving and has stopped the paralysis moving into her arms and hands!
After a stint in hospital with a nasty infection, We really struggled to see how she would bounce back.
After a reduced week at therapy, the following Monday, she moved her legs for the first time since March 2021.
Chloe is so excited and with the change of mindset, the excitement is helping set some amazing goals with her therapy team, not only does she have all of you supporting her, other patients, carers, admin staff and all the therapists cheering her on.
Lots of tears too!
Thank you all so much. We are here till the 2nd September and waiting on confirmation when she will move to rehab less intensive In Auckland to carry on what she has achieved here. The next 3 weeks here will set her up for recovery back in New Zealand.
