Children need nature and nature needs children. Research shows children who spend more time outdoors are happier and have better health, educational, social and emotional outcomes. In addition, children need to be outdoors to discover the wonder of nature and a love for nature. Only then can we expect them to defend and protect the natural environment.

Nature-based education and outdoor classroom programs aim to connect students with nature, support their learning with hands-on activities, expand the curriculum, and provide a balance to the virtual, sedentary and the intellectual.

Steiner Education is a Head, Heart and Hands approach to education, focused on child development, that respects each child's unique life journey.

Help build a unique new school that integrates Steiner education with nature-based learning, outdoor classrooms and a 13 hectare farm. The farm will provide gardens, orchards, fields, animals, nature areas, trees, a pond, stream and wetland. The new school will be unique in New Zealand and a model for the future.

Step one is to build an access road to the building site. The engineering plans are done and summer is coming. We are $20,000 from our road building target so we are asking all our friends and supporters to help raise the remaining funds to get this project started.
