We want to shift the course of climate change with our Take The Jump initiative!
Let’s act together and change the world for more fun, less stuff, and fewer carbon emissions.
Take the Jump Kia Māia te Peke (https://www.takethejump.org.nz/) is a joyous, people-led movement to help everyday New Zealanders reduce their emissions and live healthier lives with less climate anxiety. The campaign promotes seven lifestyle shifts to reduce carbon emissions and slow global heating. We believe these shifts also enhance human connection and overall well-being.
We’re raising money for our local pilot campaign and to share the Jump message nationally over radio, newspapers, social media, and with personal outreach programmes. Research shows most Kiwis are prepared to change their behaviour but don’t know what to do. A research study called The Future of Urban Consumption in a 1.5C World analysed carbon emissions and gave specific recommendations which have been distilled into the lifestyle shifts of the Take The Jump campaign.
This is about living with joy while protecting Earth. Change isn’t always easy which is why community gatherings and connection are core to Take The Jump. The campaign has an ethos of no shaming and no finger-pointing. People are invited to start where they are and take manageable steps towards change.
We have started a pilot campaign in Nelson-Tasman and the Wairarapa, and are seeking support to broaden the campaign to reach more Kiwis. Together we can shift the course of climate change and create a healthier world. Donate today!
TET connects people with conservation by offering expertise in protection & restoration of natural environments. We work collaboratively with the community including special interest groups, landowners and businesses in Tasman and Nelson.
