Please help us raise much needed funds for Floyd’s ongoing vet bills, physio sessions etc and send positive thoughts he walks again one day!
Canterbury
In August, my cousins’ beautiful 2 year old staffy, Floyd, was hit by a car in an 80km area and almost didn’t make it.
Out for his morning walk with his Mum and sister, he was playing at the river as usual and then tore off after, what we assume was, a rabbit and straight out onto the road, Mum wasn’t far behind but couldn’t stop the inevitable.
Rushed to the vets, his family didn’t even flinch at making the decision to try save his life even though they knew they didn’t have insurance (it was on the ‘to do’ list).
After multiple life-saving surgeries, weeks at the vets and the love of his family, their gorgeous boy pulled through and has finally come home BUT he’s paralysed from the waist down.
He currently has no use of his back legs and therefore no bladder or bowel control and is having physio twice a week at $155 a session with a therapist as well as physio at home every 4 hours!
There’s only the smallest glimmer of hope that their boy will walk again one day but until then vet bills already top $35000 and then there’s the cost of a customised wheelchair at $1200+, the ongoing physio sessions, vet visits and doggy diapers etc.
My cousin and her family are 100% the last people to ask for financial help but would be the first to give it if anyone else was in need so I’m putting this together for them to hopefully give them a little financial relief.

Happy 3rd Birthday Floyd! 13 April 2024
It was Floyd’s 3rd birthday on the 12th April and I think this one hits home more than any other as we came so close to losing him last year :-(
But, he’s a fighter! He’s strong, determined and fearless and he’s progressing every day!
Floyd and his amazing family are beyond grateful for the donations received so far. They’re truly helping with his ongoing rehabilitation costs and ensuring he keeps that goofy grin on his face xx
Thank you so much :-)
