Trying to save one of my best friends in the world 💗 Let’s show Claire just how far love can travel. Thank you so much, Zania 🙏💗
I’m one of Claire’s close friends from New Zealand. I’ve known and loved Claire since high school. Through all the ups and downs, we’ve stayed connected. Now I’m asking for your help to look out for her too.
Claire is a mum of two, currently in hospital in the UK with advanced heart failure. She’s strong, creative and full of love, but right now, she’s doing it incredibly tough.
She had planned to move home to New Zealand in January to be with friends and family, but her heart is now so weak she can’t fly. Even after a transplant, she’ll need to wait a full year before she’s allowed to travel.
She’s stuck overseas, far from her NZ support network, unable to work, and trying to manage hospital stays, daily costs, and raising her children. Her income no longer covers the basics. She’s fallen into debt and is even selling her artwork to try keep going – but it’s not enough.
We’re aiming to raise $40,000 to ease the pressure and give Claire space to heal and prepare for her transplant. Donations will help cover:
• Urgent living costs like rent and power
• Ongoing medical expenses
• Transport and hospital visits
• A small emergency buffer
This is a call to our NZ village – friends, whānau, and anyone who believes in helping good people.
Please donate if you can. If not, a share means the world. Let’s show Claire how far love can travel.
Thank you,
Zania 💗🙏

Every donation, no matter the size, will go towards living costs like rent and power, medical expenses and prescriptions and hospital-related costs and a very small buffer.
Claire update part 2 11 August 2025
…. We are not just moving, we are distributing all furniture and household stuff to friends and family and I’m putting my Aotearoa boxes in storage, then I’m going to live in my van (Dora) whilst I wait for transplant.
The plan was for me to come home, but unfortunately I can’t until I’ve had 12 heart biopsies post transplant so that plan is on hold. I so miss Aotearoa, my family, my friends, and the feeling of being home.
This week my potassium bottomed out, so I ended up in emergency.
Low potassium is a by product of diuretics to help my kidneys along… fluid retention is one of the joys of heart failure.
Whilst I approach my heart failure with humour and I try to remain relentlessly positive, a 24 hour stint of my heart being out of rhythm due to low potassium is quite frankly, exhausting and a little scary,
I’m due up to the Royal Papworth Hospital again on the 21st for another transplant appt so will keep folk posted.
Thank you again for sending me the gift of my Dad being here to organise me and the move.
I hope to pay it forward once I have a ticker that works.
Aroha, Claire
