We're starting a Waldorf school in in the Mid North/Bay of Islands area and we need your support to create a balanced schooling experience.
Help us to start a Steiner Waldorf primary school in Te Tai Tokerau, in the Mid North/Bay of Islands area.
We want Northland children to have access to schooling that is balanced, with a rich and diverse curriculum grounded in The Arts and skilled craft, being outside in nature, giving children the chance to explore learning through their hands, the heart and their head.
Relationships of care and responsibility – both for each other and for the land – will be embedded within our school.. Outdoor learning will involve seasonal activities, using organic principles and exploring our local environment. Academic learning will be brought to life for the child through creative hands on learning. Our school will be free from screens and digital devices.
Our school curriculum will reflect our place here in Te Tai Tokerau, ensuring that te reo Māori me ona Tikanga (the Māori language and customs) is embedded in our days, such as in story-telling, waiata, crafts, music and movement.
To realise our school, we need your support! Every dollar you donate will make a difference, and all donations are welcome.
To find out more about the new Waldorf school project, please email school@boiwet.org.nz. We are running in person fundraisers, workshops, events and more!
We welcome all who are interested in supporting this project, and will work consciously to build a school community where all are welcome regardless of race, gender, religion or sexual orientation. Join us!
We believe childhood is a wonderous time, and education should be about creating balanced, creative and insightful young citizens. As a charitable trust we are committed to uplifting the lives of whanau through Waldorf philosophies and improve outcomes for parents and their children. We have done so through the Oromahoe Kindergarten for over 10 years, and aim to expand on this over the next 10 years with a Primary School and Community Education programme.
Our first funding goal is resource consent for our school building and building upgrades.
