Bay of Plenty
On Wednesday the 28th October Nick was in a terrible accident while biking to work. He sustained a fracture dislocation of T9/T10 vertebrae, 4 fractures to his neck, a brachial plexus injury, a fractured clavicle, multiple broken ribs and a punctured lung. These injuries resulted in Nick becoming paralysed from the waist down and the inability to use his left arm.
He has spent the past 6 weeks in Middlemore Hospital, two of these in critical care. Nick hopes to go to The Auckland Spinal Unit this week to begin his rehab.
With support from both families Nicole and Rylee-May have been based in Auckland since the accident and will remain there until Nick can return to Tauranga.
As you would expect Nick has remained positive and is working hard to become as independent as his injuries allow, especially with a new baby arriving next year.
Those who know Nick and Nicole know that they are always helping friends and family and nothing is ever too much trouble. So now it is our turn to help them out.
To help Nick achieve his goals you can donate as little or as much as you like to this page. The money will be used to ease financial pressures allowing Nick to focus fully on his rehab.
I am a close friend of Nicole and Nicks.
