Please help us to honour Lexi's life and legacy. She didn't deserve to be killed.
Wellington
We are disheartened to bring the news of the passing of our beautiful girl Lexi in the residential area of Crofton Downs.
One of our beautiful adopted cats Lexi was murdered around the streets of Porokaiwhiri St on 3/6/26 before 1.45pm. We have filed a police report and SPCA report as the vet have confirmed her cause of death was by bullet, but we are waiting on autopsy results to proceed further.
Below are quotes given by the vet for post mortem and procedures at Massey University:
"Gross postmortem - $120. Radiographs chest/abdomen - $245. Neurological examination - $100. Depending on the findings of postmortem examination, the additional potential costs are: Histology - $160 (if less than 10 slides)"
Lexi's adopted family believes in donating her body to science, but because of the autopsy Massey does not require this. The options of Lexi's body are burial without return, or cremation with return from Soul Pet Friends. The family are happy for me to have Lexi's ashes and if you know me, you know I wish for our girl back. I cannot bare for her body to be discarded again, so regardless, Lexi will be coming home to lay to rest with us. These costs are quoted from Soul Pet Friends:
"Cremation (inc scatterbox): $299.25. Ink paw print: $39.90. Clay paw print: $74.55. Post Mortem transfer: $55.00. Total: 468.70"
Any and all help to cover these costs are greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping us to honour Lexi's life and legacy.
