⭐ Odie the Bulletproof Wonder Cat ⭐
We are incredibly heartbroken to update that Odie has now passed on. During surgery it was discovered that the bullet had fused into a lump connected to blood vessels and possibly nerves, and whilst trying to remove it a blood vessel was nicked and Odie could not survive the surgery, so he was put to rest 💔 Rest in Peace you incredible soul. Taken far too soon. 😔
Donations will pay for the surgery, last weeks overnight stay at the vet + 2 after hours vet visits, and towards Odie's Memorial/Cremation fund. Any extra funds will be used for rescuing, socialising, desexing and adoption of wild and stray cats. At KittyCat Rehoming Wairarapa we currently have 24 cats and kittens in our care.
Odie is an incredibly lucky and very special rescue cat from Masterton Wairarapa who has had a rough start to life. Odie has been in our care since October 6th 2020 and we have just recently learned that Odie has been previously shot at with a firearm. Lately Odie has been having bowel problems and after a suspicious lump was located, x-rays were taken to discover a decent sized bullet near Odie's right hip, and several bullet fragments along his spine. An exploratory laparotomy surgery is urgently required and we have been quoted $1,000+ which may or may not include aftercare. Please share or help if you can community ❤️ We at KittyCat Rehoming and Mr Odie are very grateful for and appreciate your support. Thank you all 🙏
Any extra funds will be used for socialising, desexing and adoption of wild cats. We currently have 24 cats and kittens in our care.

⭐ Thank You Supporters ⭐ 31 March 2021
A big thank you to everyone who supported and donated towards Odie's care. His passing was very unexpected and heartbreaking. The bullet was only located last week when Odie began having bowel problems. Odie has been in our care since October 6th 2020 and there were no signs of Odie being shot. The amazing Vet David Kettles had said if he hadn't known of Odie's history and the bullet, the bullet would've been passed off as a lump. It was an old wound, and the bullet had formed into a lump with blood vessels and possibly nerves attached, hence Odie's eventual health problems. The lump would've grown too big for Odie's body to handle. We are devastated.
It's suspected to be a .22 bullet, Firearm ammunition. Odie is a very lucky and incredible cat for surviving and living through that horror. So Odie the Bulletproof Wonder Cat suits purrfectly.
We are awaiting the invoice from the Vet, but the donations will pay for the surgery, last weeks overnight stay at the vet + 2 after hours vet visits, and towards Odie's Memorial/Cremation fund. Any extra funds will be used for rescuing, socialising, desexing and adoption of wild and stray cats. At KittyCat Rehoming we currently have 23 cats and kittens in our care.
Foster Mum and Coordinator Rachel - "He was only in our life for 23 weeks but he taught us so much and has left a big hole in our hearts and home. Rest in Peace you incredible soul. You were taken far too soon and deserved so much more time 😔 It was a blessing to have you in my life, you brought so much happiness and laughter into the household. It took 3 months for you to understand love and when you finally did you had endless amounts to give. I will never forget our time together🌹 It was a pure joy to watch you come out of your shell and become a happy, trusting and loving cat for the first time in your life. Watching you learn to play and act like a kitten is a memory I will forever cherish. Charlie finally found a friend to play with and I'm sure he will miss your cheeky ways. I already miss your cute little chirps, and watching you zoom around the house. I will forever appreciate the time spent with you and I'm honoured to have earned your trust and form a one of a kind bond. The home will never be the same without you. 💔 Until we meet again Odie"
