Liz has been offered the opportunity to receive one of the first ever in NZ Polymotion hip resurfacing surgery, she is asking for your help.

My life has been dance and for over 40 yearsI performed professionally and taught dance in many different parts of the world .

Dance is my passion and through teaching and creating I continue to dance but as we know there is a price to pay for all those years of joy and in my case its my left hip.

I have advanced deterioration which now causes constant pain and it will only get worse impacting not only my ability to support myself but also my quality of life going forward,

I have been offered an amazing opportunity to receive one of New Zealand's first ever Polymotion hip resurfacing operations. Developed by Dr McMinn in the UK it is designed for the female pelvis and provides a full range of movement with a shorter rehabilitation time than a conventional hip replacement.

Dr McMinn has invited a select group of surgeons internationally to introduce the Polymotion.

Dr Hugh Blackley has chosen a small group of patients with the right profile to operate on which included me.

The surgery date is set for December 6 2023 and costs $38,000. I am prepared to put everything on the line for this opportunity to have a pain free hip that actually still functions normally.

I am asking for support from those amongst my friends and family who are in a position to do so to help toward the time while I am without income post surgery during the school summer holidays with full assurance I do not expect but only hope for assistance. v v
