Loss & Grief Week – Let’s talk about it. Please support us to hold events across Aotearoa for those who’re facing tough times.
Nationwide
Together we can work across New Zealand to raise awareness about the powerful impact that loss and grief can have on the lives of children, young people and adults - whatever its cause. Too often it goes unacknowledged and unsupported. Loss and Grief week will also provide an opportunity for people to share ideas about ways to effectively support those grieving, and where extra grief help and support can be found in New Zealand, if it's needed.
Loss and grief can find their cause in a wide range of human situations, including bereavement, illness, injury, relationship crisis, separation or divorce, family break up, the challenges of blended families, being a victim of crime, the consequences of addiction or violence, a family member in prison or the aftermath of a disaster.
We invite those grieving, those personally supporting someone grieving, and those working in support organisations or groups, to be part of this Loss and Grief Week. Together, we can help support and educate our communities about what grief’s like for people and ways to offer them support and hope.
We believe this Loss and Grief Week makes a genuine contribution to the wellbeing and resilience of New Zealanders. Skylight is a national not for profit trust specialising in enabling people of all ages to navigate through difficult change, loss, trauma and grief, but we need your help to be able to keep this event going and even expand it! Any donation is greatly appreciated!
