Lovely Luna

Hi there

My name is Ruth and I live in Auckland. I have started this Give-A-Little page to help raise funds for my 25 year old son, Phillip and his lovely dog Luna.

Phillip took on Luna 7 months ago when her original owner could no longer have her. He then got her spayed and chipped and provided a loving home.

Luna is a 2 year old Blue American Staffordshire. Last week, while out playing and running with her friends, Luna ruptured her left hind ACL - Anterior Cruciate Ligament (a ligament across the knee joint) more correctly known as CCL in animals - Cranial Cruciate Ligament. The vet surgeon has advised Luna needs surgery within 4 weeks to repair this which will cost around $3,500.00 - $4,500.00

Phillip didn't have pet insurance (although he does now, just in case of a next time) and despite working hard and long hours, he doesn't have that kind of money readily available to give to the surgeon.

Phillip is passionate about animals and their welfare and donates to the SPCA, Give-A-Little and rides with Paws For Justice, annually.

I think it would be really awesome if we give a little back to this generous, warm-hearted, hard-working, young man, to help with Luna's expenses.
