Luna The Heart Warrior Princess

At 34 weeks gestation Olivia and Donovan got the devastating news that their beautiful baby girl was going to be born with HLHS - Hyperplastic Left Heart Syndrome with severe aortic stenosis, muscular VSD and coarction of the aorta.

This means the left hand side of baby's heart had stopped growing and a worse case scenario.

Olivia and Donovan welcomed Luna to the world on the 7th June 2016. A healthy 8lb4oz 53cm. Luna is pure perfection on the outside but so broken on the inside.

Already in her short little life Luna has had to endure more than most people would in their life time. At just 3 days old Luna had stage 1 of her Norwood open heart surgery. The outcome of the surgery was a success.

Luna was already showing the world that she is a fighter. A warrior!

Life is a emotional rollercoaster and will definitely not be easy for everyone. There is still a long road ahead but the positivity, love and strength shown by Luna's mum, dad and family is clearly helping.

Luna must stay as healthy as possible because in a few months she will have the second stage of her Norwood open heart surgery and then again in a few years. There is also the risk that Luna may require other surgery's at any stage.
