I was wondering if you could help me I’ve had a little thought I only need $1 so it won’t leave you short

Manawatu / Whanganui

Firstly thanks for checking out my page!!

I have started this endeavor because of a recent conversation when I thought if I could only get a million people to give me one dollar each I would have a million dollars, so with that in mind I have decided to see if it's possible.

I know this seems outrageous or even impossible but stranger things have happened!

I in no way want to take anything away from the truly worthy give a little pages for people who desperately need it, I am just inspired to see what can happen for a very typical nz family.

I have given myself 6 months to see if this is achievable with what I hope the end goal being the ability to purchase a home for my family, obviously I don't need a million to do this but hey why not aim big!!

So please join me on this exciting journey to see what we can achieve.

The only thing I ask is that individual contributions are a maximum of $1.

Emma Taylor's involvement (page creator)

I'm a working mum with a young family. Myself and my partner both work full time but like most Nzers we struggle with the rise of the cost of living. We would love to own a house for our children but the idea of even having enough for a deposit just seems impossible.

hello again  12 March 2016

Well with a little over 2 weeks to go i thought I would pop in and say hello and thank you. Thank you to those who have supported me in my cause and even though I am a little short of my overly ambitious (if not slightly ridiculous) goal as at today I am $548 closer than not to my goal of being a home owner. I have appreciated the support and donations from people that saw my page for what it is . . . An idea. For my own personal reasons after a few interviews and media interactions i did step away from the hype that my page originally caused and maybe that was to my detriment but netherless I have no regrets except to say once again that if I did cause offense or upset to anyone with my cause I am sorry. My journey with this has ticked along in the background while I continue on my path to home ownership which one day I hope to turn the dream into a reality for myself and my family. So once again thank you so much and good luck with your own dreams xo

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause. Good on you, Emma :) I got the idea of $1.00 internet sales years ago, before the banks would do it, so go for it! I believe in sharing the wealth, and how hard is it for all of us to help each other get a home like this...my last child leaves home in a year or so, and then I'm planning on living in a bus, so at least it will be mine! lol Arohanui :)
