Malika’s Leukaemia journey 🩷

Kia ora whānau,
On Monday (31.03.25) after a month of multiple health issues, my Niece presented at After Hours in Wellington where doctors took bloods.
The following afternoon, her Māmā received a call back to say Malika was severely anaemic and to take her straight to the hospital.
Her Māmā, Yiayia and uncle were taken in to a room and told Malika has Acute Myeloid Leukaemia 🥺
They spent the night in Wellington hospital and were flown down to Christchurch Hospital urgently with LifeFlight on Wednesday morning (02.04.25), where Malika will be having treatment for the next 6 months.
As we all know Malika’s Māmā Angelina always has her arms open, she is always willing to help, and without a doubt would give the clothes off her back to help anyone - So I’m asking for some tautoko!
We want to gather funds to help support the whānau through Malika’s journey and to ease the financial burden that comes with a medically ill loved one!
The funds raised will help support the whānau with living and travel expenses whilst they are in Christchurch, supplements, comfort items for Malika, and will also be going towards a wig when the time comes - Those who have been through Cancer or knows someone who has been through Cancer, know these come with a pretty hefty price tag 🥺
They would be immensely grateful for any help, whether it is a koha or a share 🙏🩷

Gosh an update is well overdue 🙈
Last week we had Malika and Ange home in Wellington for a few days before they flew up to Auckland to head to Starship children’s hospital where they will be for the next 3-4 months.
Malika had a fun and busy few days before her admission on Sunday night, and started another round of chemo on Monday. She will be having her bone marrow transplant on the 16th of July so please keep our beautiful girl in your prayers 🩷
