PITCH IN FOR THE PARMENTIERS
His name is Marcel Parmentier, he was raised in Clevedon and he has probably served you coffee - with a big smile - at the Clevedon Village Farmers' Market. His lovely mum, Helen, may have sorted your niggling neck or back problems through her osteopathy practice at local health centre iBod.
Marcel is a special person whose warmth, energy and maturity makes an impression on everyone he meets. At the time of his accident, he was about to complete his building apprenticeship. He is coming to terms with the new challenges he faces, and is redirecting his career aspirations towards quantity surveying or construction management.
Fortunately, Marcel has his own positive attitude and an incredibly supportive family to help him adjust to his new life. We, as a community, can also help by raising funds for a specially trained Lagotto mobility dog who will be Marcel's companion and right-hand canine as he embarks on this challenging journey.
Very soon, we'll be setting up a 'Givealittle' website where you'll be able to donate what you can to help Marcel achieve his goals. Please check the next edition of the Roundup for details. We'll also be donating some of the proceeds from this year's Clevedon Wine and Food Festival (see ad this page) to Marcel and his family.
In the meantime, if you'd like to help in any way, please email Rae at rae@maota.co.nz.
